Commentary
This morning’s readings bring me to Ruth, chapter two, where Boaz says to Ruth, “May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
Then Paul spends a chapter (1 Corinthians 7) saying, “I want you to be free… to please the Lord.”
What’s common in both lessons is an understanding of God’s overarching care and purpose in our lives.
