Demise of Page Lists Plus

For several years now, one of my go-to WordPress plugins has been “Page Lists Plus.”  With this plugin, I have been able to

  • Redirect to another page (usually on another site)
  • Unlink Parent Pages in the Menu (only their child pages have content)
  • Hide Pages in the Menu

There are other things that this plugin did, but these are the three that I used most often. Today, I did a new WordPress installation (WordPress version 3.4.2). Right off, I installed Page Lists Plus to set up a redirect. IT DID NOT WORK. That’s when I went to the official plugin page and discovered that I have been using this plugin on borrowed time:

So, I installed another redirect plugin: Quick Page Post Redirect Plugin, and determined that I need to start making better use of WordPress’ Menus. It’s a good thing, since this blog is using post categories to populate the menu (topic for another post!).
